How to Get an AdButler API Key

A quick walkthrough to generate and locate API keys in Ad Butler + links to their API docs, and more.

Getting Started

AdButler API keys are created from inside your AdButler account.

To generate an API Key, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to AdButler.

  2. Go to Settings → API.
    ​

  3. Generate a new key and give it a name.

  4. Copy the key right away and store it somewhere secure. API keys should remain accessible in the AdButler UI.

Things to know

  • API access: It may need to be enabled on your account. If you don't see the API settings or can't create a key, ask AdButler support to add the API Access add-on to your subscription.

  • Test vs. live keys: Test keys let you explore the API without using ad-serving infrastructure. Live keys are for production. A key can't be switched between modes, so create the one that matches your environment.

  • If a key leaks: Delete it on the same API Settings page and create a new one.
